Merfolk
Mermaids are often thought of with a measure of unease and anger. The half-fish half-women lured countless sailors to their deaths not caring if they were mortal or immortal. They did so to keep sailors out of the seas they called home and to prevent merefolk from being hunted and captured. When they sing men willingly follow them into the sea. Mermen are elite warriors in the water, and few can defeat them in there. Breathtakingly beautiful humans from their torso-upwards, their lower bodies is a tail complete with scales. Their hair comes in a wide range of naturally occurring oceanic colors; black, dark green through pale green, turquoise, blue, lavender/purple, white, and silver. All the skin above the waist is a pale greenish or bluish color. A fine webbing is present between each of their fingers. They seem to have pointed ears much like an elves. Mermaids can leave the ocean but experience a great weakness and lethargy when kept from it. If denied it they will eventually die. They are telepathic using telepathy to communicate with each other. They also have an affinity for the sea and it’s creatures as well as the ability to summon storms. The city of Atlantis houses their race in the deepest part of unexplored waters. Lately they have taken to hiding within Atlantis’ protected bubble as man encroaches more and more on their territory and their numbers dwindle. Mating with other races is now forbidden especially between a merman and a siren. It has been predicted that a child born of the two races will have all of their strengths and none of their weaknesses. This child will bring to light the existence of the merfolk to the immortal community. As it is many of the immortal races think the race of mermaids is extinct or never existed.
