ELVES

Living in seclusion in a forest that mortals are unable to find, the elves are natural immortals (immune to disease, recover rapidly from wounds, heal others). However like mortals they can be killed. They also possess a natural ability with bow and arrows, remarkable agility, heightened senses, and affinity with all of nature. Their height, light skin tone, hair tones that can range from vibrant greens to deep browns to light yellows, and pointed ears make them easily identifiable. Because of their habitat they share a deeper affinity with trees and plants than their dark elf cousins. Many have regretted the banishment spell placed on their dark elf cousins and believe that it is time to lift the spell. However once it was done it could not be undone except through a great sacrifice. A seer among their kind had foreseen a great war between races. The seer foretold the deaths of many elves in this war if they didn’t seclude themselves. Seeing no alternative the King ruled that no elf was to leave the safety of the forest. Within the Silver Forest the elves prosper and grow stronger. Their women have been taught to fight beside them where once they were kept safe. For centuries they knew peace. Then the seer again came to the King and told him that if he could not stay amongst his people, his daughter must rule. The King knowing the seer was never wrong disappeared leaving his daughter the only possible heir. For the first time elves were ruled by a woman.
